School bus-vehicle collision kills woman
A school bus-vehicle collision that occurred just before 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 26 in the 10000 block of Indiana State Road 62 near Indiana State Road 3 in Charlestown, Indiana resulted in the death of one woman.
Charlestown Fire Department Battalion Chief Andre Heal said a school bus was at a full stop at a railroad crossing when the vehicle crashed into it.
A woman, who had her daughters with her in the vehicle when the accident took place, was driving the car. She died at the scene of the accident. The victim’s daughters were brought to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville and are expected to make a fast recovery.
Charlestown police are conducting further investigations into the matter to find out what caused the crash in the first place.
