Louisville family killed by intoxicated motorist
According to an article from WDRB News, a family from Louisville, KY was killed on July 11 in a two-vehicle collision that was caused by a driver who was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
According to preliminary investigations, 22-year-old Bhavuk Uppal rear-ended a vehicle occupied by Briana Anderson, her fiancé Russell Hitt, and their child along Interstate 80 in New Jersey. The impact of the crash caused the family’s vehicle to slam into another vehicle and catch fire. The family was on their way back to Louisville after a trip to New York.
Uppal is currently facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated, and death by automobile, among others. In an interview with NJ.com, police investigators also said that Uppal had been driving on a suspended license at the time of the incident and had 19 previous traffic violations, including speeding, using fake license plates, reckless driving, and unsafe driving.
